Few hikers visit Sunset Arch, a delicate, graceful span on the south slopes of Fortymile Ridge, which is surprising considering the arch is accessible via a short and easy route. Most hikers who come to Fortymile Ridge are en route to one of two access route. Most hikers who come to Fortymile Ridge are en route to one of two access routes into famous Coyote Gulch, north of the ridge. Vistas along the way to the arch are far-ranging, and the walking is easy, with no obstacles. There is no trail, but one isn’t really necessary along this straightforward route across the open terrain.
