Alan Canyon - Water Canyon Loop Professional Review and Guide
"This 14-mile loop, penetrating timbered country in many ways reminiscent of the mountains of eastern Oregon, is rated aerobically moderate and technically easy. Riding surfaces include hard-surfaced gravel, packed-sand road with embedded cobbles, and double-track with the potential for respectable mud holes. Big red hoodoos embellish the sides of the Table Cliff Plateau ahead, whose high, southern-most extension is known as Powell Point.
It’s a straightforward once-up, once-down ride, with a five-mile climb followed by a descent of nearly equal length. Up high note the distinctive, thick ground cover of spreading, hunkering juniper."
