The description of this trail is SOOO incorrect. According to our Strava app, the climb-- within just the first 0.4 mile-- was over 1,000 feet. The description we read in the Cedar City/Brian Head Tourism Bureau website described it as "moderate" and "1 mile". The three of us are experienced hikers and this hike was strenuous at minimum. The trail was mostly a foot wide or less, on a slant, and consisted entirely of gravel, loose dirt and rocks, making tripping and falling a realistic concern. I was glad for my hiking poles, as they helped to steady me up several "stair" climbs and treacherous patches. Experienced hikers expecting a steep and slippery first mile are rewarded with great views at the top but hardly "unique" ones as was described. This hike disappointed us, but only because the descriptions so poorly prepared us for its actual challenges. If you have time and after Bryce and Zion, this hike should be enjoyable.
