The Echo Canyon Ramble is a 24.8-mile ride on gently rolling terrain, at altitudes ranging from 5,450 feet in Echo (town) to 5,761 feet in Hoytsville. Coalville, population 1,327 in 2008 (elevation 5,586 feet), is the Summit County seat. The city is situated at the confluence of Chalk Creek and the Weber River, the latter of which eventually drains into the Great Salt Lake. The city is also situated at the south end of Echo Reservoir, a privately owned body of water that features a camping and boating resort, at the north end of the Weber River valley.
