A short loop trail through wooded country atop the Markagunt Plateau. This trail forms a loop through the subalpine forest above the east rim of the Cedar Breaks amphitheater. It is a self-guiding nature walk, with pamphlets provided at either trailhead. We describe the trek as a 2.1-mile loop from the Chessmen Overlook, but hikers can also approach the loop from the Alpine Pond trailhead at its north end or choose between several shorter point-to-point hikes.
