Cottonwood Canyon Road Drive

Cottonwood Canyon Road Drive Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This tour is a rainbow-hued geologic showcase that includes Kodachrome Basin State Park, Grosvenor Arch (a rare double arch), and Cottonwood Canyon, along the Cockscomb, a skywardthrusting, sawtoothed flexure in the Earth’s crust and geologic divide between two of the monument’s three components, the Grand Staircase and the Kaiparowits Plateau. Spring and fall are the best seasons to visit."

Really nice trail that lets you bypass some paved roads. Coming out of Lake Powell make sure you have a full tank as there isn't anything till the end of the trial. Really beautiful scenery, sometimes you wonder if your still on earth. Good road for the first few miles then you need a stock 4x4 to get through the rest. We did see a Buick sedan farther up but he has broken something and was waiting for a tow truck. The double arch was pretty amazing
