Snow Flat Road Professional Review and Guide
"Snow Flat Road follows part of the old Mormon Pioneer Trail that traveled west to the San Juan Mission. The trail leaves Southeast #46: Comb Wash Trail and for the first few miles runs along the west side of Comb Wash. This section is very sandy, with several deep, powder-fine sand traps. The trail climbs a slight ridge away from Comb Wash, offering spectacular views back to Comb Ridge, north to the Blue Mountains, and south into Road Canyon. Special Attractions: Old Mormon Pioneer Trail; The Twist—a rocky climb up onto Cedar Mesa; Views of Cedar Mesa and Road Canyon; Snow Flat Spring Cave.
High-clearance 4WDs are preferred, but any high-clearance vehicle is acceptable. Expect a rough road surface; mud and sand are possible but will be easily passable. You may encounter rocks up to 6 inches in diameter, a loose road surface, and shelf roads, though these will be wide enough for passing or will have adequate pull-offs."
