Comb Ridge

Comb Ridge Professional Review and Guide

"This 47-mile loop following roads of packed sedimient and loose sand (along with 8 miles of pavement) is technically rather easy and aerobically moderate—if you take the recommended two days to do it. Only the fittest of riders should attempt the ride in one day and with lots of water aboard.

Route finding is actually quite easy: Just stay close to Comb Ridge whenever faced with a choice of ways to go. To begin, after turning off the highway, you’ll head north along the abrupt west wall of the ridge, generally gaining elevation as you zip up and down through a repetition of dry washes. Off-road travel is prohibited between the two highways because of the wilderness-study status of much of these lands. General location: Five miles west of Bluff."
