Butler Wash Road

Butler Wash Road Professional Review and Guide

"This graded county road follows along the tilted side of the Comb Ridge monocline and alongside Butler Wash. From the trail you can view the canyons cutting deeply into Comb Ridge, many of which contain very unspoiled Anasazi cliff dwellings. Hikes to explore these side canyons can reveal many surprises. However, because of the unspoiled nature of the ruins, the BLM has asked that exact locations and directions not be published.

Special Attractions: Butler Wash Anasazi ruins near the north end of the trail; Anasazi cliff dwellings in the canyons of Comb Ridge; Views of the tilted slab of Comb Ridge. This trail is graded dirt but suitable for a normal passenger vehicle. It usually has gentle grades, is fairly wide, and has very shallow water crossings (if any)."
