Maidenwater Canyon and Trail Canyon are unmarked primitive trails on BLM land bordering Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Although the miles are short, there is a fair amount of scrambling and walking through water and plants and on loose river rocks. Wear appropriate footwear. In May 2011 the water level never exceeded 30 inches, but check with BLM on water levels as conditions change quickly—some hikers have reported deep swims! There are a few spots where dogs may need a boost, but no ropes or harnesses are required. Dogs and humans love this secluded adventure hike. Everyone will get wet!
