Mount Holly

Mount Holly Professional Review and Guide

"Mount Holly is a behemoth chunk of mountain that towers over Eagle Point Resort.
It’s easily the most prominent peak in the area, and her broad shoulders lure the eyes of backcountry skiers like a magnet. Luckily, the resort has backcountry gates that
provide easy access to Holly’s low-angle snow bowls. Plus, if you’re looking for a long
tour that avoids the use of ski lifts, an approach from Puffer Lake fits the bill. The top of Mount Holly is a vast, flat meadow, which makes it difficult to find the highest point. This also means that it’s not necessary to go that far unless you’re set on bagging the peak, though it may be worth it just to stare down the gargantuan northeast cliffs. Otherwise, start skiing or snowboarding down the west face from wherever you choose on your ascent route. Another good, mellow run that gets you back to the resort boundary is on the south face. It ends in a valley between Holly and Lake peaks, where you can make your way down the North Fork Three Creeks
drainage back to the resort."
