"A short stroll to the longest arch in the park, plus a short side trip to two more large arches. The hike to Landscape Arch is akin to the trip to Delicate Arch. It’s one of those must-see features of Arches National Park. Landscape Arch has an opening spanning an incredible 306 feet, which may make it the longest stone span in the world. On the geologic time scale, Landscape Arch is a senior citizen among arches in the park. It’s also famous for the extreme slenderness of its stone span." Read more

The one arch I most wanted to see in Arches NP was Landscape Arch, which spans 306 feet in length and only 11ft thick at the center. This is one of the longest natural arches in the world. The trail is easy with a wide graded path and is mostly level with a few moderate hills thrown in. As a result, this can be a pretty congested trail if you’re going during peak season. There is very little shade and it gets HOT in the park (over 100’ midday in summer) so be sure to bring plenty of water. The total length of the trail is 0.8 miles one way or 1.6 miles round trip. The scenery along the way is beautiful and there are two side trails leading to Pine Tree and Tunnel Arches. The trail ends at a viewpoint which was very crowded as visitors can no longer go up under the arch due to previous rock falls. This is one arch not to be missed!
