Greens Basin Trail Alternate Professional Review and Guide
"Greens Basin is a lovely meadow beneath slopes of huge evergreens that rise up from the canyon floor between Days Fork and Silver Fork. Driving up Big Cottonwood Canyon, you can see these well-spaced, powder-filled trees above the Spruces Campground. It is among this blanket of evergreens where good powder can be found long after a storm, thanks to ample shade and protection from the wind. A ski tour in Greens Basin makes for a fairly mellow day even though the basin rises 2200 vertical feet in 2.5 miles from the Spruces parking lot. This may sound like a big ascent, but the trail to the top is mostly low-grade and is protected from avalanche terrain."
