Big Creek Loop Trail departs from the Horseshoe Lake Loop Trail and extends to the park boundary. Big Creek Loop Trail is not on the regular park map but is on a trail map available by request at park headquarters. Watch closely for alligators along the edge of New Horseshoe Lake and always be cautious of snakes, as many of them here are of the poisonous variety. If you are interested in birds, more than 290 species have been sighted here.
