Outlet Malls Cruise Professional Review and Guide
"The springfed headwaters of the San Marcos River provided a welcome stop for Indian tribes that once roamed the area. Today, tourists come to float in the cool, clear waters of the river and visit the variety of roadside attractions along the interstate which runs through town. Among the most popular of these roadside attractions is the series of outlet malls on the south side of San Marcos. While the malls will be crowded, the country roads behind them are quite empty and provide a wonderful setting for bike riding. Terrain: rolling hills through open farm and ranch lands, with a significant climb on Old Lehmann Rd. and a long descent on FM 3353. Road: quiet country roads with light traffic."
