The Paseo del Rio, also known as the RiverWalk, utilizes both sides of the historic San Antonio River in downtown San Antonio. This is one of the few places in the world where there is a 6.1-mile hike, 20 feet below street level, over concrete, flagstone, and cobblestone surfaces. Always a spot to sit and rest, have lunch, or just chat. The RiverWalk is multifaceted, serene, and parklike in some areas, while others are full of activity, offering access to European-style sidewalk cafes, nightclubs, and the history and bustle of the city.
