Close to downtown San Antonio, the botanical garden is perfect for a simple nature recharge and lunch, though one might easily spend a day here studying the flora of Texas and the world. Formal gardens, a grand conseratory, and the Texas Native Trail are among the attractions.

I liked this trail because it was well shaded. Both falls were dry, but that is to be expected in the middle of summer. I took my 5 year old, and he loved it.
