The Bowl Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This trip is, in essence, an elongated overnight version of the Hunter Peak Loop. Like the Hunter Peak Loop, this route is described in a clockwise manner. Since you’ll be staying overnight, you must choose your campsite before leaving and get the required backcountry permit from the Pine Springs Visitor Center.

The first preference might be the Tejas campsite, which is as close as you can get to the midpoint of the trip. However, you can also stay at Pine Top, which is a short distance to your left once you reach the rim of the escarpment. If you plan on a late start on the first day and don’t mind a long second day, you might prefer Pine Top."
