Early settlers in the area saw tepees set up in this meadow and named it Indian Meadow. Today, it's certainly easy to see why Native Americans used the meadow as a campsite. It's level, protected, and near water sources. This isn't really a hike. It's an evening or early morning stroll that offers an educational bonus. The brochure describes the remarkable natural diversity of the area as well as its cultural history. It’s certainly rare to be able to study so many aspects of natural and cultural history in one small spot—and in such a convenient location. This is a dirt trail with no hills, perfect for hikers interested in a short, easy stroll or for people unable to walk long distances.
