This gulfside park offers camping, a bathhouse, and 5 miles of beach where kids (and adults) can play and swim. Primitive camping is permitted along 2 miles of the beach, often allowing you to pitch a tent or park an RV in relative solitude, with gulls and terns as your nearest neighbors. The greater part of Sea Rim’s 4,141 acres lies north of TX 87, a tract of marshland where adventurous visitors can rent a canoe and explore along miles of marked trails. Pied-billed Grebe, cormorants, waders, waterfowl, and rails can be seen throughout the year. While this may not be the most productive way to bird on a species-per-hour basis, paddling quietly through the expanse of marsh can be an exciting and rewarding experience.

I'm sorry to say that this park is closed after getting hit by Hurricanes Rita and Ike and may never open again.
