To start the Richards Loop hike, head toward an information sign about trail etiquette and rules and a hiking trail sign. Go through the motorized-vehicle barrier and get on a dirt trail. There are markers in the trees about 6 feet high that are color coded to the particular hike that you are on. If during any hike on the Lone Star Trail you have not seen a marker in a few minutes, stop and get your bearings.

Beautiful loblolly pine forest with fern-covered forest floors. very clean. we didn't see a single person on this 7.25 mile trail. only negative connect would be that there was a significant amount of logging
