Pat Mayse Lake—West Recreation Area Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Finding the campground: From Paris, take TX 271 north for 12 miles to FM 906 and go west 4 miles to FM 197. Travel west on FM 197 for 3 miles to CR 35810, turn left and go 1 mile to CR 35800, then make another left into the park.

About the campground: The lake provides excellent opportunities for fishing and hunting, along with swimming. Sport fish species include largemouth bass, white crappie, sunfish, striped bass, and channel and flathead catfish, among other common species. There are two boat ramps (small launch fee included in the camping fee) and a courtesy dock. These lands are managed for upland game and white-tailed deer and are open to the public for hunting."
