The Pinery Trail

The Pinery Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The 0.9- mile Pinery Trail is a fun out- and- back hike that loops around the ruins of The Pinery Station, a stagecoach stop on the Butterfield Overland Mail route in the 1850s. The easy hike follows a paved, ADA-accessible trail from Pine Springs Visitor Center along the south bank of a wide, dry wash.

The trail is great for families and senior citizens, with good views of the surrounding mountains and signs that interpret the flora and fauna of the Chihuahuan Desert. No shade is found along the trail, so hike in morning or evening on hot days, wear a hat, and bring water. Pets are allowed on a leash."
