Kerrville - Schreiner State Park Trail Professional Review and Guide
"Classic, rugged Hill Country scenery and terrain in an easy-to-complete loop. A couple minimally difficult inclines offer the boulders and steep pitches of rougher Central Texas rides without the long miles and killer hills. Although Kerrville-Schreiner State Park is not a place I’d necessarily make the focus of a long mountain bike trip, it does have a nice little bike trail—just in case you find yourself in the area and don’t want to risk life and limb over at Kelly Creek Ranch. This place packs enough campsites to rival any KOA, and the visitors tend to travel largely in RVs, so don’t expect peaceful isolation if you’re camping on a weekend. But the park is typically beautiful Hill Country scenery, and all the amenities are available. Tread: Mix of singletrack and doubletrack service roads."

If you're in the area, try this trail system. I believe it's around 7 miles of trail of really great single track. For it to be in such a relatively small area, you get a chance to experience a couple different types of trails. There is a rocky section at the top, a really nice downhill section by the fence line on the north border of the park and a lot of whipping up and down and all around through the trees at a pretty good clip, thanks to the craftiness of the local association who grooms the trails. Really nice, for only seven miles. Would have given 5 stars if the trail system had been longer. Worth a trip to try!
