This loop of loops covers all the trails at Kerrville-Schreiner, a well-maintained Kerrville city park. Wander through juniper woods, topping out at a point where you can overlook the Guadalupe River Valley below. Hikers and mountain bikers can combine the trails in many different ways for a multitude of possible routes. The Cougar Canyon Trail crosses Cougar Canyon on an old pond dam, then dips to a small wash before ascending the ridge dead ahead. Top out on the ridge, where Trail #4B (with no other name) leaves to the right. You will likely notice the view ahead more than the trail leaving right. Here, the West Verde Valley stretches far in the distance, far to the east. Begin working down the valley in broken juniper woodland, passing an old tin shack in the next wash, which is wooded with live oak. Come along a fence line. Ahead, you can see the park group lodge.
