This ride heads west from Jefferson, passing through terrain quite different from that encountered on rides to the east. This route passes over rolling countryside cleared of forests for farms and pastures toward the Lake O' the Pines. Lake O' the Pines is among the most popular lake recreation areas in east Texas and is especially prized by bass fishermen. You'll have a good view of the lake as you ride for more than 2 miles along the Ferrells Bridge Dam, which impounds the lake on its eastern border. Terrain: gently rolling hills, a little steeper leaving the dam across the lake. Road: traffic leaving from and returning to town. FM roads are two lanes, no shoulder, with lighter traffic after crossing US 59. Texas 49 on the return has high-speed traffic but a shoulder.

It was a very gorgeous sightseeing, the road is in very good conditions and we felt safe all the way. It is very easy to follow the directions. Cell phone reception is not very good so is better to download the route using wifi where you are staying.
