Chinquapin Trail Professional Reviews and Guides
"The Chinquapin Trail, located in Huntsville State Park and adjacent to Sam Houston National Forest, is a favorite of hikers, trail runners, and many mountain bikers. It crosses several interesting habitats typical of the loblolly and shortleaf pine woodlands of the East Texas Pine Belt. The Chinquapin Trail surrounds the 210-acre Lake Raven, the centerpiece of Huntsville State Park. The main trailhead is located next to the park’s nature center. Drop by the nature center either before or after your hike for a review of some of the natural history you may witness along the trail."
