The East Trails hike at Jesse H. Jones Park uses the Jones Bender and Homestead trails. The Jones Bender Trail is a rectangular loop that starts and ends at the first parking lot on the right as you enter the park. The Homestead Trail is in the middle of the Jones Bender Trail and is an out-and-back trail that takes you to the Redbud Hill Homestead and the Akokisa Indian Village. The homestead is a re-creation of an 1820–1830 East Texas homestead, and the Akokisa Indian Village sits adjacent to the homestead. Both are open for self-guided touring on Wednesdays and Saturdays, 1–4 p.m.

The East Trail is an asphalt loop trail that is very well maintained. There are also a few sand/dirt trails that spur off the main loop. They are also well maintained. We were able to push an umbrella stroller on all trails without issue.
