Trail to Coffee Mill Lake Professional Review and Guide
"Compared to the competent administration of public lands in Texas’s state and national parks by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the National Park Service, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Forest Service do only an adequate job at best of facilitating and maintaining recreational opportunities on their various Texas properties. This includes Caddo National Grasslands WMA, a composite of eighteen different land tracts and three lakes that represents 17,000-plus acres spread across Fannin County. But thanks to the efforts of the Caddo Trail Riders Association, a friendly, family-oriented riding club based in the county, hikers have a good chance of enjoying this rather remote segment of northeastern Texas grasslands. The association has developed a trail system of varying lengths for their equestrian members and maintains a well-kept campground and camp facilities at the Bois d’Arc trailhead."
