Hoot Owl Trail is a hiking trail in McKinney, Texas. It is within Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary. It is 0.5 miles long and begins at 548 feet altitude. Traveling the entire trail is a mile with a total elevation gain of 194 feet. Along the trail there is parking. The trail ends near Bird blind, Local Birds overlook, and another viewpoint, the A Green Invasion, Lightning Tree, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, and Tree: Largest Bur Oak in sanctuary, over 250 years old information boards, and Seeligston picnic area and another picnic site. There are also benches and a tree near the end of the trail. This trail connects with the following: Sycamore Trail and Laughlin Loop.
