Granbury is an attractive and interesting small town in a beautiful setting, providing a great base for cycling in all directions. Granbury is located on the edge of the Glen Rose Formation. This ride explores the countryside to the north, past Lake Granbury and through some quiet, secluded ranch land. Granbury is a popular tourist and resort community. Restored historic buildings housing cozy inns and bed-and-breakfasts are tucked away throughout Granbury. The Opera House has been active since the mid-1970s, and there is lots of shopping, interesting museums, and nice places to eat after your ride. Terrain: rolling hills. Road: FM 2580 is two lanes, no shoulder, with some traffic. Traffic is heavier on FM 51, but there is a wide shoulder that narrows over the lake crossing. Little traffic on Tin Top and Baker roads. Tin Top road has some rough surfaces.
