Enchanted Rock State Natural Area

Enchanted Rock State Natural Area Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"As you approach Enchanted Rock State Natural Area on Ranch Road 965, the huge slickrock dome and surrounding formations will have you checking your map to see if a wrong turn didn’t land you in the canyon lands of Utah. In fact, your first view of the park area will remind you of the eastern approach to Zion National Park.

After you pitch your tent, put on hiking boots or good sturdy tennis shoes and head to the Summit trailhead located at the end of the day-use parking lot. This short 0.6-mile trail climbs a steep 425 feet but is well worth the effort. Be sure not to hurry, but enjoy the panoramic views along with the hearty cactus and juniper appearing to grow out of solid rock. Take plenty of water and a bit of food so you can stay and ponder the beauty laid out before you."
