The 355-acre lake was designed and built to control floodwaters but has become a first-class destination for anglers who don’t want to fight the speedboat crowd. There is a 50-boat limit on the lake, and the no-wake rule is strictly enforced, with a speed limit appropriately described as “idle.” Turning north off Highway 175, you’ll approach the park past tranquil farms and small ranches.
