There’s some serious elevation out here in El Paso, and these are some serious trails. Beautiful views of the Franklin Mountains and a seemingly endless spread of open land make this a trail worthy of an all-day exploration. The trails in Franklin Mountains State Park are outstanding. Long stretches of singletrack that pierce the horizon and roll over the lower reaches of the surprisingly scenic Franklin range offer fine technical riding as well as some gradually graded and really speedy stuff. Tight switchbacks, rocky drops, easy ups and downs, and some very rewarding climbs add up to just about everything you could ask for in a trail. Tread: Mostly singletrack, some doubletrack.
