Texana Park and Campground

Texana Park and Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Hiking trails leading from the Texana trailhead are perfect for wildlife photography and solitude.

Located between Houston and Victoria off US 59, this campground seems remote to human travelers, but is situated perfectly for migratory birds heading to and from the Texas coast. As you enter the park, heavy tree cover protects you. Once you take an immediate left across the bridge, wildlife appears near the road, including the armor-plated armadillo and the majestic great blue heron searching for food in a backwater cove starved for rain during years of drought. You also see the Texana trailhead, which connects to approximately 4.5 miles of hiking trails that are perfect for wildlife photography and solitude."
