Located between houston and Victoria, this campground seems remote for human travelers, but is situated perfectly for migratory birds heading to and from the Texas coast. As you enter the park, you are protected by heavy tree cover. Once you take an immediate left across the bridge, wildlife appears near the road, including the armorplated armadillo and the majestic great blue heron searching for food in a backwater cove starved for rain by the recent years of drought.
