This is a nature and river lovers’ park. Start on the El Camino Trail, a concrete, wheelchair-accessible path that goes to an overlook on the Medina River. Pick up the Rio Medina Trail and follow the river through the natural area. The riparian area features large cottonwoods, native pecans, and bald cypress trees. All the ingredients for a natural area are here, including a river, wild hogs, maybe a snake, poison ivy, wildflowers, and many colorful birds, lizards, and butterflies.

Great trail. Mostly hardwoods. There are many opportunities to see the Medina River. The large pecan trees are impressive. Trails well marked. Perfect for 1/2 day hike
