This ride has everything. Speedy flats, climbs of all lengths and intensities, and some roller-coastery downhills that will test the limits of your tire tread are all assembled for your enjoyment at Cedar Hill State Park. There are also some great views and a large section of land being restored to its native prairie state—fantastic ride in a beautiful park just outside Dallas. There may be less than 150 vertical feet separating the highest and lowest points in the park, but your legs will certainly insist that you’ve covered far more than that by the end of a ride here. The trail makes great use of the park’s 1,400 acres, using every hill and ridge to make the ride more challenging. Kudos to DORBA and the state park staff for working together to make such a great trail. And the terrain, on the White Rock Escarpment, is absolutely beautiful. From the grassy prairies to the cedar-studded hillsides to the peaceful shores of Lake Joe Pool, Cedar Hill is an oasis in the midst of urban sprawl. Tread: Mostly singletrack.

Great Mountain Bike Trail. Narrow, not many hills or rough terrain, fast spots with tons of 180 degree turns. Be prepared to take a few tree limbs to the head and shoulders if your not careful!

rode the trail about a week after rain and the ground was still spongy, as if trying to pedal with a dragging brake. lots of switchbacks with plenty of trees on either side. headwinds become a problem on the longer trail but just until you get back into the treeline. the 3 mile loop is great for beginners.
