Pilot Knoll Trail Professional Review and Guide

"This trail, which winds alongside Lewisville Lake, is not the most scenic, but during hot, dry summers, the lake waters recede, leaving a marsh and exposing gnarled trees favored by vultures. Birds dominate the woodlands adjacent to the trail. Be aware that construction of FM 2499 may reroute portions of this trail."

A really nice morning hike. with connecting trails out and back is roughly 13 miles. The terrain is easy on your feet. Portions of the trail are Equestrian and most of it is wooded. Not crowded but you might have to deal with people who don't leash their dogs.
