12-Mile Loop Trail Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Devils River State Natural Area is undeveloped, thus no picnic tables, concessions, or amenities. Its “natural area” designation requires that it remain so. It is also a long way from the nearest town, more due to drive time along the 22-mile Dolan Creek Road than the mileage.
That, in and of itself, should be the reason to pay a visit. Better yet, the natural area claims a remarkably isolated and beautiful slice of the Devils River, one of the finest ribbons of fresh spring water in one of the most desolate parts of the state. And I mean that in a good way."
