White Rock Ramble Professional Review and Guide
"The trail along White Rock Creek has a concrete surface with many small wooden bridges spanning creek crossings. The trail usually continues uninterrupted by passing under busy streets, but the few traffic intersections are well regulated with traffic signals or signs. There are stone mileage markers along the way and the path is clearly marked. The trail parallels White Rock Creek along much of its length, passing through some forested areas and smaller parks as you approach the lake. White Rock Lake, which was impounded in the early 1900s, is almost always in view from the trail. Terrain: flat. Road: a concrete trail from Valley View Park to White Rock Lake; trail around the lake is paved; there are many wooden bridge crossings along the way."

Very nicely paved trail, marked with "lanes" for joggers and hikers. Some parts are under construction. It circles the lake and includes many picnic areas. You should secure your valueables out of sight. There are a lot of Aztlan criminals frequenting this area. Do not leave your bicycles unlocked or unattended, and do not expect the police to do anything. The park is pretty safe, and the pretty residential district right beside the lake is nice, but the surrounding area is the liquor store/porn/stripper area and some surrounding areas are occupied.
As inner city trails go, this is a nice one. Good views of the 'other side' of Dallas. Nice relaxing trip to take the whole family on....
