This 3-mile out-and-back hike starts out in a suburban subdivision before heading into forests where it follows a shaded creek to the shores of Lake Grapevine. A couple of creek crossings are relatively steep, and low-water crossings will be wet after rains. Great year-round, this trail is much less heavily traveled than the nearby North Shore Trail, offering a more solitary experience as long as you don’t mind the thorny vines encountered in the forested parts at the beginning of the trail.
