This is still an excellent trail—I have enjoyed every ride I’ve ever done here. It has more climbs than a lot of local trails, and it’s tougher because of the loose limestone surface that predominates, but it is so easy to get lost here. The ride is usually marked with arrows at least once a year, because of races and training rides local clubs and shops sponsor. But it is such a maze that I seldom repeat two laps exactly. The Dead Dog Turn is gone, but his section of the creek bed is still there, and not many people come here anymore because of the other groovy trails in the Metromess. You still can’t find a better intense concentration of fine single-track anywhere in north Texas. This place is only about a mile or so on each side, and there’s probably ten miles of trails to peruse. I mean, that is tight. And so are all the sections of Boulder Park.
