The beginning section of this ride offers some fun technical challenges, and there are plenty of scenic views of Cedar Lake when the bike trail hooks up with the nature trail. This loop is definitely a mixed bag. At the outset there are some beautifully twisted stretches of hard-packed singletrack snaking through dense tree cover and clearing some fairly steep drops and climbs. And though the return portion of the loop was somewhat boring, mostly following the fenceline up and down a series of hills and washes, it will keep your climbing legs warm. Tread: Mostly hard-packed singletrack, with a couple miles’ worth of doubletrack.
