Slickrock Canyon is a small but scenic canyon located near the northern boundary of the park, just north of the Santa Elena Junction where the Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive turns off the Panther Junction?Study Butte road. The walk is flat and easy, but there is no trail. The hike is a cross-country route that follows two washes to the canyon. You will be walking in sandy and gravelly wash conditions for the entire trip.

A fairly moderate but uneventfull hike. The canyon was pleasant and cool, but lacked some of the colors and formations I was hoping for. I spent a day relaxing in the shaded walls of the canyon and did some exploring into the deeper reaches. Not a great deal that I saw in the way of photographic interest but a wonderful place to get away for a day or two.
