Dorba Trail Professional Reviews and Guides
"We started building this trail in 1993. Steve Mayo was the man who laid most of it out, and countless other people helped flag and cut and still help groom it to this day. This place gets a couple of tons of traffic any time it’s open. The rangers close it when it’s wet, and it can stay that way for months in the winter. The hydraulics of the clay keep some places on the hilltops as muddy as river gumbo for weeks. This place is a race course and there are usually a few people cranking hot laps around here, somewhere along the trail. Let ‘em by so you can ride at your own pace. Lots of climbing and loose dirt make this a ride that your typical beginner might not call a fun day. The downhills here are blinding and loose, and Mr. de Zaster is lurking behind every tree, chuckling. He knows you’re gonna overcook sooner or later and leave him some skin and blood to remember you by. I have seen many chains broken here, and much puke has been spewed around by people who challenge the heat until it breaks or kills them. Some have actually died here."
