Choke Canyon State Park

Choke Canyon State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"With names like Owl Hollow, Hawk Alley, and Dove Place, you know to bring your binoculars, spotting scopes, and long-range camera lenses.

As you travel through the heavy brush country of south Texas between Corpus Christi and San Antonio, the 26,000-surface acre of Choke Canyon Reservoir is a true oasis. This Bureau of Reclamation project not only provides a water supply for the human visitors, but also serves as a prime birding area. Throw in a few local alligators and you have an ideal destination for the tent camper."
