Toledo Bend Reservoir-Indian Mounds Campground

Toledo Bend Reservoir-Indian Mounds Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"As you travel 7 miles east from Hemphill on Farm Road 83, a right turn on Farm Road 3382 leads to a dense forest drive running along the border of the 11,037-acre Indian Mounds Wilderness Area. This rugged part of the Sabine National Forest prohibits any motorized access, and only hikers or equestrian riders may enter the area. Backpacking and primitive camping are also allowed, but do be careful in hunting season.

After choosing your site, head to the 185,000-acre reservoir for one of Texas’s premier fishing locations. A boat will allow access to countless coves and inlets where you can fish, birdwatch, or just float with the breeze."
