Terry Hershey Park encompasses approximately 12.5 miles of trails from TX 6 west to Beltway 8 east. Quail Trail is currently the longest of the park’s trails at 5.1 miles, making for a 10.2- mile out-and-back hike (unless you can arrange a pickup or car shuttle). Thus, length and the unusually hilly terrain along Buffalo Bayou earn this hike its moderate rating.

If you can get past the first quarter mile or so of sewage stink then you are in store for a fairly decent urban/woodsy hike! The trail is asphalt and well traversed on the weekends. A good Sunday stroll in the park for sure. Enjoy! Watch out for bikers!
