This guided hike is a must for nature lovers and a flora and fauna primer for all the Hill Country hikes. Take notes as the certified interpretive guide points out and talks about various plants, animals, birds, geology, and history. The diversity of vegetation and limestone formations is a major feature of this area. The trail goes up and down until it reaches the canyon floor of the creek. The clear blue-green water, with the large bald cypress and sycamore trees, provides great photo opportunities. The golden-cheeked warbler, an endangered species, nests here. Entry to Honey Creek State Natural Area is by guided tour only. This hike is moderate due to some steep inclines over limestone.
